Fatal crashes prompt bus safety hearing - The Hill's Transportation Report

Here we go again!

The operative quote:

"A Senate panel will examine bus safety in a hearing next week in the wake of two Northeast bus crashes that killed more than 15 people.
“The tragic series of bus crashes in New Jersey and the Northeast have exposed serious weaknesses in the safety of our nation’s bus system,” Sen. Frank Lautenberg (D-N.J.), the  chairman of the Senate Transportation’s Surface Transportation subcommittee, said in a statement."

Frank, Frank, FRANK! A "series" is more than two crashes! "Duh" - slap head here!

As a voter in America -  I really don't see how two bus crashes in the northeast killing 15 people at the tail end of the worst winter ever recorded has "exposed serious weakness in the safety of our bus system." What I would say is it has exposed a serious weakness in our election process to choose viable leaders to do real work for the people - like for example -  protecting Americans from domestic (Muslim) acts of terror, ensuring the sovereignty on the southern American border with a WALL, eliminating trillions of dollars of national debt, creating a climate of freedom to allow millions of individuals out of work - to go back to work, eliminating Federal Government programs which lead to foreclosures on an unprecedented scale and eliminating barriers to domestic oil drilling and production which are causing rising oil prices and the loss of security. "Now those are "serious weaknesses" Frank!" But you go on being distracted and unfocused Frank, me, I am going to stay focused on seeing people like you retired and forgotten in 2012.

GOP Sen. Brown opposes Planned Parenthood cuts - The Hill's Blog Briefing Room

The operative quote is: "I support family planning and health services for women," Brown said in a statement. "Given our severe budget problems, I don't believe any area of the budget is completely immune from cuts. However, the proposal to eliminate all funding for family planning goes too far."

This is stunning, absolutely stunning! A Republican idiot who believes women go into Planned Parenthood for "family planning" and "health services" "Mr. Brown, what women do you know that go to Planned Parenthood for PAP smears, Mammograms, Flu shots and etc?" "Mr. Brown how does a woman plan a family at Planned Parenthood? Better yet - "Mr. Brown, I again pose the question, do you know any women who have gone to Planned Parenthood to plan a family?"

Only an idiot politician must not know what everyone else knows - Planned Parenthood does abortions period. And women go there for abortions period. For everything else there is VISA - I mean - General Practitioners or real doctors in real doctors offices.

Oh, and in an attempt towards full disclosure I gave to "The Honorable" Mr. Brown's campaign! Ahhhhhhhh!

Victor Davis Hanson - Works and Days » The Fragility of Complex Societies

Works and Days » The Fragility of Complex Societies

I love this sentence:

"So it is not mindless to resist high speed rail (here in California it would be far wiser and cheaper first to ensure a three-lane, safe north-south freeway 99 or I-5)"
For those who don't know I5 and I99 are two North South freeways, mostly two lanes wide, which go through very rural parts of California and have two speed limits for Automobiles (65 - 75) and Semi trucks (55). All who have driven I5 going 75 MPH when a Semi Truck going 60 MPH decides to pass another Semi Truck going 55 MPH say, "This freeway needs three lanes!
Here is a more interesting idea: Create an Autobahn running in the middle of the North South lanes of I5. It would be a private toll road created with private investment on state leased land - 99-year lease. It would require owning an approved automobile, a yearly safety inspection, a special license requiring a high speed driving course and a yearly subscription to drive the toll road. How fast you ask, oh I don't know 130 MPH to 175 MPH?

Ahh,The President Speaks about Gun Control - Gun control no longer a dormant issue - TheHill.com

Gun control no longer a dormant issue - TheHill.com

The operative quote:

“A man our Army rejected as unfit for service; a man one of our colleges deemed too unstable for studies; a man apparently bent on violence was able to walk into a store and buy a gun,” Obama wrote Sunday in an op-ed in Tucson’s Arizona Daily Star.
“I’m willing to bet that responsible, law-abiding gun owners agree that we should be able to keep an irresponsible, law-breaking few — dangerous criminals and fugitives, for example — from getting their hands on a gun in the first place.”

The problem: Jared Lee Loughner did not break any laws. Being rejected by the military is not breaking the law. Surely being ..."deemed too unstable for studies;" by a college is not breaking a law. (Wouldn't that preclude all the females looking for their MRS?) The president is right I do want those "dangerous criminals and fugitives" with felony convictions to be refused gun ownership - absolutely. Not arrested, not suspicion, but convicted and time served.

The starting post - finally the correct name!

Since I am the only one here this is for me to remember why I decided on today and why I decided to post. The most important was the name - I finally arrived at a name. The other is the sudden plethora of stupid quotes, idiotic ideas and unreasonable power grabbing restrictions to American's lives. The consequence of a weak President who is ignorant of his first priority - defending the Sovereignty of the American Citizen. Of course all the intrusions on the American Citizen's Sovereignty are proposed in the name of "protecting" the American Citizen - hence forth "The Slaves," "Unwashed Masses," the "Non-Elites." When I say, "Stupid, stupid, stupid Politician!" or "Stupid, stupid, stupid Bureaucrat!" think Gollum/ Smegol - with contempt!

Will it be all contempt - no because I am an American Citizen and I do think in spite of my lousy education, years of media indoctrination and infernal brain washing about the government as the Great Benevolent Master. This is what liberty is about - where Yankee ingenuity came from - the ability for the Citizen to choose how to solve their own problems and the source of help they choose to elicit. So from time-to-time I will blow my own horn - my own blog page - on what I believe will allow American Citizens to prosper and therefore America to continue to shine. Trust me - those who lament America's demise - are premature in their obituaries.
